1. Nadia, the housekeeper, was lovely and a very good cleaner;
2. The pool’s water current jet machine was fab;
3. The large kitchen/dinner living area is perfect for families;
4. The tennis court was a nice bonus;
5. The location of the villa, and ease of cycling into Les Portes-en-are, is perfect.
Thank you for all your help in organising our fantastic holiday on Ile-de-Re. Villa Aurore was the perfect home-from-home for my family and friends.
Salima and Hamza were very good concierges and Nadia was a truly wonderful cleaner; she is very efficient and a lovely person, who made friends with all of us, especially the grandchildren. They are a credit to Villanovo.
1. The driveway/parking is very, very, tight;
2. The crockery, cutlery and glassware is of poor quality and there are no serving platters;
3. We had to buy a washing-up bowl and a dustpan and brush for daily purposes;
4. There was no evidence of a gardener attending to clear away the pine cones and needles, which meant we had to do the sweeping;
5. There should be fans in every bedroom. The only one at the property was broken;
6. There should be a villa manual, containing important and other useful information, kept in the villa and available for guests.

Beautiful property, light and spacious.
Plenty of crockery, pans and utensils.
Lovely pool and enjoyed the tennis court.
Villanovo team was overall very helpful. Transfers booked were very good.
Disappointment about booking taxi's on the Island. Would warn guests that they are very unreliable. Ours did not turn up.
Not enough pool towels, not even enough for one each.
Very few wine glasses. Barely one each and we were only a group of 7. Unable to have a glass of red and white wine at the table.
No hot water for 24 hours, I don’t think it had been turned on.
Would have been nice for there to be use of tennis rackets, we had to bring our own.

Amazing location in the woods and very close to beautiful beach. Plenty of space, excellent open plan living area.
Amaya from Villanovo was very responsive and helpful.
Details but they count: quality of china, there wasn't soap in all the bathrooms, several people walked into the glass door (very clean which is lovely, but a sticker would be helpful for safety). Also the china was difficult to access: the doors hang low and can pinch the toes, several people banged their head on the overhanging work surface!
Astrid the chef was a bit of a disappointment. While she's very lovely and nice to have around, the quality of her cooking wasn't always great (very tough lamb and beef in particular), she got quantities really wrong (4 small prawns per person one day, huge amount of mussels and beef on another day, not enough vegetables most days despite me asking repeatedly for more vegetables). We found it hard to believe it took a professional chef 6 hours to produce the mostly very simple meals she did.
